Life in this amazingly scenic Canadian city began over 10,000 years ago. The native American Indians were the first to live in the area and enjoy the abundant. The Spanish discovered the land in 1791 and then in 1792 George Vancouver claimed it for Britian. This set in motion settlement of the area in the 1860s and it becoming the terminus of the transcontinental railway; The area has since boomed with commerce and tourism to become Canada’s largest port and a thriving city.
